DATING FAIL: Guy Keeps Detailed Spreadsheet of his Online Dating Prospects, Sends It to One of Them
“I work with spreadsheets a lot,” Dave* told Jezebel. (He’s an NYC finance guy.) “It’s a great additional tool. I work long days, go to the gym, go out on a couple of midweek dates or what not, get home late…how am I going to remember them? I’m not. So I made the spreadsheets. My comments aren’t malicious or mean. This was an honest attempt to stay organized.”
What isn’t smart is sending it to one of the women on said spreadsheet.
On April 4, Dave went on a date with Arielle. She was “very pretty,” “sweet and down to earth,” and had “a great personality,” according to his now black box of a spreadsheet. During the date, he mentioned that he had made the spreadsheet. Mistake número uno. Then, after she teased him and asked him to send her the tracker, he added insult to already hemorrhaging injury and emailed it to her.
So what does Arielle do? Send it to her girlfriends, of course! Surprisingly, it took her two whole days to send the spreadsheet on. Not surprisingly, it didn’t take much longer than that for it to go viral, having now made its way onto sites like Gawker and Jezebel.
Dave has deleted his profile.

SOUND OFF: Was Dave’s only mistake sharing the spreadsheet? Or should he have not made one in the first place?
*Dave is not his real name. But with so many guys named Dave out there, I guess it could be.
